If you have a product range with a number of sizes or colours that you want to track by an overall parent sku, you can set these up in StockTrim if the structure is not in your host inventory system.
There are two ways to do this:
1. In the app,
- enable data editing, go to products
- If no parent sku exists, you need to create it first
- Once the parent sku exists, open up the variant sku, and use the VariantParent slection box to chooe the parent sku
- Then save and recalculate
2. In bulk using csv import
- On your products csv import
- Add the new parent item as a sku
- Add the variant items underneath this.
- Add a column header VariantParentId. Then in this column copy and paste in the Parent sku code you are using.
- Save, and import from the load data, products box, then recalculate on the order plan.
- The parent variant relationships should then show on the order plan, and the parent sku will sum up the total amount of stock on hand, on order, and the overall forecast recommendation for all its variants.
