StockTrim has 3 type of "buffer" that you build into your calculations.
- Our default buffer stock or safety stock is automatically applied with a 95% service level, which should be sufficient to meet most unexpected spikes in demand. This is based on your sales data and is explained here: https://stocktrim.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057267554-What-is-buffer-stock
- Buffer time - you can add more time into your forecast if you want to look out beyond your default Lead Time by using our Forecast Period function, this adds in extra time into the initial forecasting calculation
- Min Shelf - you can add a minimum shelf amount or min stock amount to ensure that the system will always take this into account for the next time period you are forecasting for. So if you never want to drop below e.g. 10 units of a sku, you can set this as the Min Shelf Level value.
